This course results in a HSE approved certificate in First Aid which is valid for three years. Students gain a practical understanding of the treatment and management of first aid in the workplace.

- Resuscitation
- Dealing with shock, bleeding, choking, unconsciousness
- Eye injuries, burns, scalds, poisons
- Common illness, and injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Use of first aid boxes
- Transporting casualties
- Record keeping and hygiene
- Communication in an emergency
Commitment required
The certificate course runs over three full days (see full timetable). Certification requires 100% attendance.
Who should attend?
Those designated as first aiders at work, or responsible for the safety of colleagues in the event of an accident or other emergency. First Aiders are often supported by Appointed Persons.
